TXT vs SRT vs VTT — which export should you use?
TXT is the whole transcript as plain text — best for writing captions, quoting, translating, or feeding into other tools. SRT is the standard subtitle format: numbered blocks with start/end timestamps that CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and YouTube all import directly. VTT is the web-native subtitle format used by HTML5 video players and most course platforms.
Rule of thumb: reading or writing → TXT; editing video → SRT; embedding on a website → VTT. EzTranscript exports all three from the same transcription, so you don’t have to choose in advance.
